Desulfurization Tower
Working Principle
Dry desulfurization tower: Industrial waste gas reacts with desulfurizing agents to realize chemical adsorption and desulfurization. Ferric oxide is commonly used to oxidize and adsorb hydrogen sulfide.
Wet desulfurization tower: Solvent makes counter-current contact with waste gas to remove sulfide. Alkaline solution absorbs acidic gas with oxygen carrier as catalyst.
Biological desulfurization tower: Microorganisms metabolize sulfides and convert hydrogen sulfide into elemental sulfur or sulfate. Bacteria reproduce on packing layers to purify biogas.
Basic Structure
Dry desulfurization tower: Consists of tower body, end enclosure, air pipelines, inspection holes, wood gratings and sewage outlets. It can be designed with single-layer or double-layer beds.
Wet desulfurization tower: Composed of tower body, packing layer and spraying system. Waste gas contacts with circulating desulfurization liquid in counter-current for purification.
Biological desulfurization tower: Biogas flows upward and contacts with sprayed alkaline absorption liquid. Regenerated liquid is recycled for continuous circulation.
Performance Characteristics
Dry desulfurization tower: Low investment, simple operation and small floor space. No corrosion and condensation. Desulfurization efficiency is about 70%.
Wet desulfurization tower: Fast reaction speed and high efficiency. Suitable for large gas volume and high sulfide concentration with high operation cost.
Biological desulfurization tower: Low operating cost and high removal efficiency. Elemental sulfur can be recycled with less chemical sludge and no secondary pollution.
Application Fields
Application scope: Widely used in power, steel and chemical industries. It removes sulfur dioxide from flue gas generated by coal combustion, sintering and chemical production.
Main Types and Appearance
Limestone-gypsum wet desulfurization tower: The most widely used type. Limestone slurry absorbs sulfur dioxide to form recyclable gypsum. It is designed as a cylindrical tower with multiple pipe interfaces.
